Music Courses at North Arvada

Introduction to Music

In Music, this class provides students the opportunity to develop their musical expression in a variety of music styles designed to develop techniques and abilities. Students will develop an understanding of musical elements including rhythm, sight singing, harmony, expression, and music in its cultural/historical context

Orchestra

(Year-long course) This ensemble is designed to promote students’ technique and will focus on the improvement of the individual’s proficiency on their instrument. This course is designed to develop students’ abilities to play, covering a variety of styles. In addition, music theory concepts will be incorporated into daily rehearsals. Students enrolled in the performance music program will be required to perform at all scheduled concerts, typically two per semester.  Participation in these concerts will be included in the determination of the student’s grade.  

Symphonic Band
