FACS II
Family and Consumer Science (FACS) II course topics typically include foods and nutrition; sewing, consumer decisions and interpersonal relationships. Career exploration and leadership development will be emphasized throughout the course
FACS III
Prerequisite: Students must have taken FACS II before taking this course.
In FACS III, topics such as communication skills, personal relationships, career exploration/consumerism, foods/nutrition, interior design and intermediate sewing skills may be covered. Emphasis will be placed on labs as well as project-based learning. Additional topics may include preparation of foods and practical life skills, and nutritional topics. Career exploration and leadership development will be emphasized throughout the course.
FACS IV - Culinary Arts
Prerequisite: Students must have taken FACS III before taking this course.
In Family & Consumer Science 4, students will continue to learn a variety of culinary skills that include food preparation and presentation techniques. Students will further their learning about nutrition, cooking and baking while practicing collaboration, creativity and communication. Emphasis will be placed on labs as well as project-based learning. Career exploration and leadership development will be emphasized throughout the course.
